1961 Topps Mickey Mantle Baseball Cards

Mickey Mantle had 3 cards in this set including #44 which was a multi-player American League Home Run Leaders card. He also had his regular issue players card #300 and his all star card #578 of course. The set was the first one to feature the popular MVP and the League Leader cards. The #475 Mantle card celebrates Mickey`s '56 & '57 AL MVP status.

The Mick`s cards from this series remain one of the most valuable cards from this series, largely because of the epic homerun derby race to beat babe ruth`s record that Mantle and Maris engaged in that season. Mantle also shared the spotlight with cards for : Hall of Famers Juan marichal #417, Ron Santo #35 and Billy Williams #141, there was also a valuable Roger Maris card #2, a Hank Aaron # 415, and a Warren Spahn card #200. The higher numbered cards 523-589 are the rarest to find and continue to hold the most value to collectors lucky enough to find them.
