1964 Topps Mickey Mantle Card
Another all-star Topps baseball card for the American legend, Mickey Mantle. This vintage card, whether near mint or not, is sure to be a crowning piece in any baseball card collection. This vertical card shows Mickey in a traditional batters stance, with Yankee bleachers in the background. On the back of the collector’s card there is a run down of his batting record for his entire career.This card has a book listing of about $500.00 for Mint/Near-Mint and is therefore a bit of a bargain compared to earlier 60’s-era Mantle cards. Mickey was on 2 cards in this series. On the #50 card he is featured solo standing in a right-handed batting stance, the #331 card is an “American League Bombers” tribute which features Mantle and other AL players.
The 1964 series featured a total of 587 card. It is notable for featuring the rookie cards of Rich Allen, Tony Conigliaro, Tommy John, Tony Larussa, Phil Niekro, and Lou Pinella. The rarest cards of the series are #523 and up.
