1965 Topps Mickey Mantle Card
This year was no exception to Mickey Mantels amazing career. The
All Star year, Topps baseball card is sure to be a home run in any vintage collection. This years card added a new edge. Instead of the simple Yankees emblem in the corner, the Yankees name is placed on a flowing banner. In the background one can see fellow Yankees milling around on the field.The 1965 Mickey Mantle card has a book value of about $600.00 for Mint/Near-Mint. The ’65 series contained 598 cards and was adorned with a unique pennant design that displayed the player’s team name. ’65 cards are fairly abundant and building a full set is relatively easy compared to other ‘60’s sets. The cards numbered #371 and above are the rarest and there are 44 cards that were “short printed’. Notable rookies from the series are: Steve Carlton, Jim Hunter, Joe Morgan, Tony Perez, and Manson Murakami.
